About Us
We are a well established, not‑for‑profit, community based organisation
that has proudly supported local families in the Cessnock area for over 60
years. Across our seven services, we provide high quality, affordable childcare
and education, along with nutritious meals that support children’s health,
growth, and learning.
Our kitchen team plays a vital role in creating a safe,
clean and welcoming environment for the children in our care – and we’re now
looking for the right person to join that team.
About This Role – Please note: this is a Kitchen Hand
position
This role is not a cook or chef position.
You will be responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations,
including:
- Serving
and plating prepared meals
- Light
meal preparation only (no menu planning or cooking from scratch)
- Dishwashing
and cleaning
- Maintaining
high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Following
set routines and cleaning schedules
This role suits someone who enjoys practical, hands on work
and takes pride in keeping things organised, clean and running smoothly.

About You
You will be:
- Comfortable
working on your feet in a busy kitchen environment
- Reliable,
punctual and committed
- Positive,
team oriented and safety focused
- Availability
for
5 shifts per week
You will also have:
- Some
experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen (support roles
welcome)
- A
current Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- A
willingness to obtain or provide a Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Geccko
National Child Safety Training (or willingness to obtain)
- A
valid driver’s licence
