Description

Purpose of the position

The Caseworker’s primary role is to support the Team Leader to achieve client engagement, case collaboration and client outcomes.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Collaborate with Team Leader/Manager to implement and continuously improve structured, best practice service delivery that systematically engages men to address challenges and attend a range of therapies, as part of the 12-week rehabilitation program offered by Mimosa Creek Healing Centre.
  • Monitor caseloads and case plans and ensure clients are progressing towards goals
  • Attend client triage meetings with relevant government departments and other service providers
  • Provide service delivery to clients and complete allocated tasks by providing relevant advice to Team Leader/Manager
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with referral partners and other service providers
  • Be accountable for achieving targets, including indicators that support service delivery and CQID strategic and operational plans
  • Participate and contribute to the organisation’s compliance obligations under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and Human Standards Quality Systems (HSQS)
  • At all times work within CQID’s Workplace Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader & Manager

Qualifications and experience

  • Holds a current C Class Queensland Driver’s Licence
  • Tertiary qualifications in AODs or relevant Human Services
  • Holds or is willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff members
  • Experience at successful service delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Experienced in client engagement and case collaboration

Skills and attributes

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage – [Note: Non-Indigenous applicants will only be considered if no suitable Indigenous candidates are attracted in the first round of applicants]
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office software
  • Physical ability to undertake job responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively; spoken and written
  • Self-starter, motivated and able to self-manage work tasks
  • Strong connection to and knowledge of local Indigenous Community
