Summary: 

The Formation Specialist – Content Development & Delivery plays a crucial role in enhancing the formation offerings of the Archdiocese of Melbourne. This position focuses on creating, curating, and delivering high-quality formation content that aligns with our mission to form and equip our parishes and communities of faith. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that our formation initiatives are effective, engaging, and true to the mission of the Church. 

  

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and design formation materials and resources that meet the needs of diverse audiences. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance. 
  • Deliver formation sessions and workshops, both in-person and online. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of formation resources and make recommendations for improvement. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in adult faith formation and content delivery. 

  

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree relevant discipline (i.e. Theology, Pastoral Care, Education) or currently undertaking 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for content creation and delivery. 
  • A passion for community development and a commitment to the values of the organisation. 
  • A strong commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church, including a passion for formation and evangelisation. 
  • A desire to deepen and grow in their understanding and knowledge of their personal relationship with Jesus and their own faith formation. 
  • Demonstrate an interest in and ease with working collaboratively with peers and mission partners. 
  • Strong theological expertise to train and equip people in the formation journey. 
  • Confident and courageous in an environment of uncharted and pioneering initiatives. 
  • The capacity to deal sensitively and intelligently with difficult issues. 
  • Sound time-management skills and ability to prioritise. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. 
  • High level of integrity, honesty and confidentiality, with an awareness and appreciation of Catholic Social Teaching.
