Description

CareWays Community has been providing services to the community since 1978. We have a reputation for providing highly valued community support programs from our four neighbourhood centres and in-home aged care in the community.

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists to join our Community Services team funded by the Department of Communities and Justice.

This role will provide a connector role, broad wraparound supports and active outreach for the Connecting Seniors and Carers Program aimed at building community connection, reducing social isolation and improved health outcomes.

This is a fixed term role commencing in July 2026 for a 12 month period with a possibility of extension. The position is full-time primarily based at our Koonawarra Community Centre.

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in Neighbourhood Centres and Community Outreach
  • Experience in leading projects, being flexible, adaptable and problem solving
  • Certificate IV or Diploma level in Community Services or related qualification, and 1-2 years’ experience in a similar service
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and highly developed organisational skills
  • Computer literate in all MS Office suites and DEX
  • Sound understanding of Community Development Principles and Practices
  • Sound understanding of the Principles of Social Justice
  • Ability to liaise with individuals at all levels and backgrounds
  • Empathetic understanding of the client target groups, including indigenous and cultural groups
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Knowledge of relevant resources in the community
  • Current full drivers’ licence and reliable vehicle

Remuneration

  • Position is subject to award conditions under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 as Social and Community Employee Grade 4.
  • Uniform and laundering allowance provided
