Role Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety officer to join CTS a Cardo Group Company, based in Ballyboughal, Swords
As a Health & Safety offer you will support and maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the workplace.
The Health and Safety Officer will work closely with management and employees to identify hazards, investigate incidents, deliver training, and recommend improvements that reduce risk and enhance operational safety. This role requires strong communication skills, sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, and the ability to influence safe working practices at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring company safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with Irish legislation and best practices.
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and safety reviews; report findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Support managers and supervisors in accident/incident investigations and maintain accurate records.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and safety training to promote awareness and engagement across all project teams.
- Liaise with the Health & Safety Authority (HSA), clients, subcontractors, and internal teams on compliance matters.
- Monitor trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in occupational health and safety performance.
- Keep up to date with statutory obligations, codes of practice, and relevant Irish and EU directives.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field (e.g., QQI Level 7 or higher).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within construction, engineering, or manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
- Competent IT user (Microsoft Office Suite, safety management systems).
- Full, clean driving licence.
