At our Riverina Cancer Care Centre in Wagga Wagga, we are seeking a dedicated full-time Oncology Pharmacy Compounding Assistant/Technician to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality cancer care to the local community.
Reporting to the Head of Pharmacy, the successful applicant will join a growing pharmacy team and be primarily responsible for the compounding of parenteral admixtures, including cytotoxic and aseptic medications. The role also involves providing assistance and support to the Pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, as well as contributing to general pharmacy operations and related activities
What you will be doing?
- Compound chemotherapy and aseptic products in a pharmaceutical isolator
- Adhere to aseptic manufacturing standards, including isolator cleaning and maintenance
- Prepare and dispense prescriptions in line with PBS requirements
- Assist pharmacists with preparation, packing and labelling of oncology and aseptic products
- Receive and unpack cytotoxic medications and deliver to the chemotherapy unit
- Support stock and inventory management
- Assist with general pharmacy duties and patient-related tasks
What you will bring:
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly enthusiastic, motivated, and quick to adapt in a supportive environment
- Oncology/hospital Pharmacy experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Previous aseptic manufacturing experience would be an advantage
- Hospital experience is highly desirable, though not essential
