About the Role
We are seeking an experienced demolition industry professional to join our team as a Demolition Site Inspector.
This role is responsible for conduction detailed pre-demolition and post-demolition site inspections to ensure projects are completed safely, compliantly and to Burton Demolition’s high standards.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of demolition operations, site compliance requirements and industry regulations, with the ability to identify hazards, assess site readiness and verify completed works prior to handover. You will play a key role in ensuring all projects meet legislative obligations, client requirements and company quality standards.
This position is ideal for someone with demolition, asbestos, construction or building industry experience who has a keen eye for detail, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is confident working independently across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-demolition inspections to assess site readiness and compliance requirements
- Verify service disconnections and isolation of power, gas, water and other utilities
- Identify hazards including structural risks, access issues, asbestos concerns and environmental considerations
- Coordinate asbestos sampling and assist with site preparation requirements where required
- Ensure all permits, approvals and site documentation are in place before works commence
- Conduct post-demolition inspections to verify works have been completed safely and to company standards
- Identify defects, incomplete works or compliance issues and coordinate corrective actions
- Complete inspection reports, site records and compliance documentation
- Liaise with project managers, supervisors, site crews, clients and regulatory authorities as required
- Assist in maintaining Burton Demolition’s commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance
About You
- Experience within the demolition, asbestos, construction, building or civil industries
- Strong understanding of demolition practices, site safety requirements and industry regulations
- Experience conducting site inspections, quality assurance checks or compliance assessments highly regarded
- Ability to identify hazards, compliance risks and quality issues before and after demolition works
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining company standards
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site inspections
- Professional communication and reporting skills
- Current White Card and Driver’s Licence
- Asbestos industry experience highly regarded
