Description

As a Registered Nurse with us, you will work with our residents living in our beautiful Blue Mountains facility and be responsible for providing quality care to residents within the facility to ensure their wellbeing, as well as providing guidance, direction and support to the care team including Assistant Nurses and Enrolled Nurses.

About you

  • Nurse registration endorsed by AHPRA
  • Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an aged care setting
  • Have a good understanding of contemporary aged care, clinical practice and clinical leadership
  • Have knowledge on the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Demonstrated tolerance, patience and empathy with the residents and their needs.
  • Excellent written documentation and assessment skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to problem solve and effectively resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Have relevant knowledge and expertise in wound management and infection control
  • Have experience leading and supervising a care team
  • Have an understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
  • Be someone that strives for excellence, and high levels of achievement

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Delivering quality care to residents by enhancing their quality of life
  • Liaising with medical officers and other health care professionals 
  • Communicating with residents and resident representatives in relation to all aspects of quality care and quality of life issues for residents
  • Ensuring that the residents’ privacy and dignity is maintained at all times
  • Ensuring the care and protection of residents’ property and valuables
  • Documenting nursing care to ensure continuity of care in accordance with all legal and facility requirements
  • Referring complex nursing issues and/or those beyond the scope of your personal and/or professional practice to the care managers
  • Providing supervision and direction to care workers

 

In order to be considered for employment in the Aged Care sector, candidates are required to provide a NDIS Workers Clearance and obtain a satisfactory pre-employment medical assessment.
