Buckland is a quality provider of Aged Care services situated in Springwood in the Lower Blue Mountains, NSW. We are a well-established not-for-profit organisation and are highly respected within our community. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Hospitality Services Manager to join our leadership team on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the General Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to lead the delivery of exceptional hospitality services across our home. You will be responsible for the leadership of our Kitchen and Laundry teams, while overseeing contracted
cleaning services to ensure the highest standards of service, safety and compliance are consistently achieved.
Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
- Leading and mentoring the Hospitality Services team, including Kitchen and Laundry staff.
- Ensuring hospitality services are delivered in accordance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, with a strong focus on the Food and Nutrition Standard supporting resident choice, dignity and wellbeing.
- Overseeing the planning and delivery of high-quality meals that meet residents’ individual dietary requirements, cultural preferences, allergies and texture-modified needs.
- Maintaining compliance with Food Safety Standards, HACCP principles, infection prevention and control requirements and Work Health and Safety legislation.
- Managing hospitality budgets, food costs, stock control and consumables while identifying opportunities to minimise waste and maximise value.
- Monitoring and maintaining food safety systems, audits, documentation and compliance records.
- Liaising with and overseeing contracted cleaning services to ensure contractual obligations, environmental cleanliness and infection prevention standards are achieved.
- Working collaboratively with the clinical, lifestyle and leadership teams to continually enhance the resident dining and hospitality experience.
- Undertaking staff recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management and workforce planning within the Hospitality Services team
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement, service excellence and person-centred care across all hospitality services.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in hospitality, catering or food service management, preferably within residential aged care, health care or a similar environment.
- A strong background in commercial kitchen operations and food service management.
- Sound knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, particularly the Food and Nutrition Standard.
- Strong understanding of Food Safety Standards, HACCP principles, infection prevention and Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Experience managing hospitality teams and coordinating external contractors or service providers.
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational, financial and time management abilities.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Australian working rights.
Essential Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Hospitality Management (or higher), or equivalent industry experience.
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Desirable
- Previous experience as a Chef, Hospitality Services Manager or Food Services Manager within residential aged care.
- Knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the Aged Care Act
