About the Role:
As our Youth Development Coach you will become a trusted partner in a young person’s journey toward stability, belonging and independence. You’ll provide coaching and casework that recognises each young person’s strengths, culture, identity and aspirations, supporting them to build the skills, connections and opportunities that lead to safe housing, wellbeing and positive futures.
Guided by Advantaged Thinking and trauma‑informed practice, you’ll support young people to identify their goals, navigate challenges, and celebrate progress. You’ll work collaboratively with families, community networks and service partners to create coordinated, empowering support around each young person.
This full time, ongoing role is ideal for someone who values relationships, listens deeply, adapts to diverse needs, and brings optimism and professionalism to complex situations. You’ll join a team committed to child safety, cultural inclusion and psychosocial wellbeing, contributing to a workplace where staff and young people feel respected, supported and able to thrive.
Do your skills include:
- A sound understanding of the challenges faced by young people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, and/or transitioning from Out of Home Care, with a proven ability to engage, coach and case manage young people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to achieve improved outcomes.
- Ability to make timely, sound case work decisions and assessments regarding risk and protective factors that relate to the immediate needs and longer-term goals of children and young people.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with clients, families, colleagues and external stakeholders to support coordinated service responses and positive outcomes.
Are your credentials:
- A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services or equivalent. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: i.e. AASW, Community Services Council, APS etc.)
- A current Drivers Licence.
