We’re looking for an experienced and values-driven Executive Manager – Youth Mental Health to provide strategic leadership across our Brophy Youth division.
This senior executive role will lead a broad and important service area supporting young people across South West Victoria, including youth mental health, alcohol and other drug services, housing and homelessness, youth justice, wellbeing, early intervention, and headspace services in Warrnambool, Portland and Hamilton.
As part of Brophy’s Executive Leadership Team, this role will help shape organisational strategy, strengthen service quality and clinical governance, and lead sustainable outcomes for young people, families and communities across the region.

About the Role

As our Executive Manager – Youth Mental Health, you will provide executive leadership across Brophy Youth, ensuring services are integrated, sustainable, evidence-informed and responsive to community need.
This role is responsible for the leadership and oversight of a complex, multi-disciplinary and multi-site service system. You will lead Senior Managers and organisational leaders across youth mental health, alcohol and other drug, housing, homelessness, youth justice, wellbeing and early intervention services.
You will also hold key responsibility for service quality, clinical governance, practice leadership, financial sustainability, workforce capability, strategic partnerships, compliance, risk and continuous improvement.
As lead agency for headspace Warrnambool, headspace Portland and headspace Hamilton, Brophy holds responsibility for governance, contractual compliance, model integrity, clinical governance and service performance. This role will ensure those responsibilities are met while also strengthening Brophy Youth’s broader impact across the region.
This is a role for an experienced executive or senior leader who can balance strategy with people, governance with innovation, and service performance with genuine community impact.
You will contribute to whole-of-organisation decision-making as part of Brophy’s Executive Team and provide strategic advice to the Chief Executive Officer on risks, opportunities, reform, service development and future directions.
This is an Ongoing, Full-time position.
Location: Warrnambool / Portland / Hamilton, as required.
Your Skills
- Demonstrated executive or senior leadership experience leading a major business area, service system or organisational function within a complex community service, health, human service or related environment.
- Strong experience leading strategic direction, operational performance, workforce capability, financial sustainability and sustainable outcomes.
- Proven ability to contribute to organisational strategy, executive decision-making and organisational governance.
- Demonstrated experience leading clinical governance and practice within a multi-disciplinary workforce.
- Experience leading governance, risk, compliance and quality systems, including oversight of critical incidents, safeguarding matters and organisational accountability requirements.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience working with government departments, funders, regulators, strategic partners and sector leaders.
- Strong financial, operational and workforce leadership capability, including leadership of senior leaders, management of organisational resources, organisational planning, service integration and change leadership.
- A demonstrated understanding of contemporary evidence-informed approaches relevant to youth mental health, health, housing, homelessness, justice, wellbeing and community service systems.
- A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and psychologically healthy workplaces, including executive accountability for occupational health, safety and workforce wellbeing.
Your credentials
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing.
- Current registration with AHPRA or AASW.
- Tertiary qualifications or additional accredited training in business, management, leadership, governance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of seven years’ experience in a leadership role within a similar not-for-profit, community services or health-based organisation.
- A current Driver’s Licence.
- A current Working With Children Check — Employee — Victoria.
- A current National Police Check.
- A current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
