About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated OSHC Assistant to join our Montessori-based Outside School Hours Care program for children aged 6-12 years. This role supports a calm, respectful and child centred environment, aligned with Montessori principles of independence, choice and intrinsic motivation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a Montessori-inspired program that encouraged independence, creativity and self directed learning.
  • Assist in maintaining a calm, respectful and orderly environment.
  • Guide child in making appropraite choices and engaging in purposeful activities.
  • Supervise indoor and outdoor environments, promoting exploration and collaboration.
  • Foster positive relationships based on respect, empathy, and inclusion.
  • Assist with daily routines, including food preparation and care of the environment.
  • Follow al child safety, compliance and service policies.

About You:

  • A genuine interest in Montessori Philosophy.
  • Warm patient and respectful communication style.
  • Ability to observce children and respond thoughtfully to their needs.
  • Enthusiastic about support independence and responsibility in children.
  • Reliable, adaptable and collaborative team member.

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid Working with Children Check (QLD Blue Card)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with school-aged children
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or willingness to obtain)
  • Montessori experience or training – highly regarded but not essential.
