We are currently seeking an experienced, passionate and professional Clinician to join our Turning Corners team on a full time basis, based from our Arundel office. This is a fixed term contract until 30th June 2027.
About Turning Corners:
The Bravehearts Turning Corners program works with young people who have engaged in or at risk of engaging in harmful sexual behaviours. The team provide developmentally, culturally, and contextually appropriate services that promote safety, accountability, healing, and wellbeing for all parties impacted by harmful sexual behaviour.
About the position:
Reporting to our Turning Corners & Intake Manager, this role involves supporting community-referred children and young people across the full continuum of intervention, including those referred for a fee for service option through the Restorative Justice Program. Clinicians are responsible for delivering end-to-end intervention, including intake, assessment, therapeutic treatment, advocacy, and ongoing case management, and are accountable for driving coordinated, safe, and effective outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide trauma informed counselling, intervention and case management to young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour, young people who have been harmed by sexual abuse or harmful sexual behaviour, and non-offending parents and carers.
- Deliver end-to-end intervention, including intake, assessment, therapeutic treatment, advocacy, and coordinated case management, and take ownership for progressing each case toward safe and effective outcomes.
- Provide support and education to clients, their non-offending family members and/or their care team.
- Conduct client assessments, maintain accurate case notes, and prepare professional reports for external agencies when required.
- Collaborate with team members and external agencies to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Evaluate and monitor treatment outcomes using standardised tools.
- Identify, report, and respond to child safety and wellbeing concerns in line with mandatory reporting and organisational procedures.
- Contribute to a positive, culturally safe, and collaborative team environment that reflects Bravehearts’ mission, values, and vision.
Skills and experience required to succeed:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, counselling or a related field.
- Registration (or eligibility) and/or membership with governing body of profession.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in counselling and case management including individual, family and group therapy.
- Experience in providing trauma counselling to young people who have been harmed through harmful sexual behaviour, and some experience in working with young people who have or are at risk of engaging in harmful sexual behaviour is preferred.
- Experience in maintaining accurate case plans, treatment plans and other client information.
- Demonstrate personal qualities such as integrity, sound judgment, empathy, and a deep
respect for others.
- Experience and understanding of issues relating to service delivery with an agency that is committed to socially and culturally inclusive practices preferable.
- Must have, or be willing to apply for, a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), National Police Certificate and NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card).
