Bowhill Engineering is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Project Assistant to join our team and support the delivery of major infrastructure projects through advanced digital
systems and production support. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of fabrication technology, helping drive a smarter, more connected and paperless workshop environment using industry-leading tools including FabStation and HoloLens AR. About the Role
The Project Assistant plays a key role in
strengthening quality, certainty and production flow by embedding advanced
digital tools into everyday workshop and project execution.
Working closely with Project, Production and
Quality teams, you will support digital QA systems, production readiness,
reporting and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Through
real-time data, visual verification and disciplined systems, you will help
ensure fabrication is built right the first time while reducing rework and
improving communication between teams.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys
problem solving, technology, organisation and process improvement, while
working in a fast-paced fabrication and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
- Support and maintain digital QA systems including FabStation and HoloLens AR
- Assist with production readiness, work packs and planning coordination
- Ensure real-time production and QA data is accurate and up to date
- Support workshop teams with clear and accessible project information
- Monitor planned versus actual production performance and reporting
- Assist with compliance tracking, reporting and system updates
- Identify opportunities for improvement and help implement smarter processes
- Work collaboratively across Project, Production and Quality teams
- Help strengthen transparency, communication and workflow efficiency across projects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain OFI registers
Experience & Qualifications
- Current Driver’s Licence (Manual)
- Experience in steel fabrication, construction or manufacturing environments (desirable)
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competent IT skills including MS Word, Excel & Outlook
- Experience with production software, Tekla or MS Project (desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices
