Bowhill Engineering is entering an exciting new stage of growth, and we’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Business Manager to help lead the business through its next chapter.
This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role within a growing engineering and manufacturing business, helping strengthen our systems, support our people, and build the structure required to successfully grow from approximately 60 employees to 90+ and beyond.
Specialising in major infrastructure projects and complexity done excellently, Bowhill Engineering is powered by technology and driven by great people to optimise and build structures that matter.
About the Role
The Business Manager will provide leadership, coordination and accountability across our key business support functions, including Human Resources, Administration, WHSE and Finance.
Working closely with the CEO, senior leaders and support teams, you will become the central point of coordination that helps ensure communication is clear, priorities are aligned, systems continue to improve, and important initiatives are delivered successfully.
This role is not about doing everything yourself. It is about leading people, strengthening accountability, improving processes, supporting teams and ensuring the business operates efficiently while maintaining the practical, down-to-earth culture that makes Bowhill Engineering a great place to work.
You will help create the systems, structure and leadership pathways needed to support sustainable growth while preserving the values and culture that have made Bowhill Engineering successful.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and coordination across HR, Administration, WHSE and Finance support functions
- Act as the central point of contact for internal business support activities
- Support the CEO and Leadership Team by reducing day-to-day operational distractions
- Improve communication, clarity and accountability across teams
- Drive implementation of new systems, processes and business improvement initiatives
- Monitor business performance and ensure key priorities are followed through
- Build capability within support teams through coaching, guidance and leadership
- Strengthen succession planning and reduce key-person dependencies
- Support business growth by developing scalable systems and structures
- Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with Bowhill Engineering’s values
About You
You enjoy bringing order to complexity and helping people succeed.
You are practical, organised and commercially minded, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership. You communicate clearly, follow through on commitments and know how to achieve results through collaboration and accountability.
You may come from a business management, operations, HR, finance, administration or leadership background. Most importantly, you understand how businesses operate and can bring people, systems and priorities together to achieve positive outcomes.

Skills & Experience
- Qualification in Business, Management, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing or a related discipline (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in a senior business, operations, administration, HR, finance or management role
- Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, reporting and business performance
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to coordinate teams and drive accountability
- Experience implementing and improving systems, processes and business initiatives
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office and business management systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and growing environment
