About the role

Reporting to the Head of Claims, the Claims Manager, Personal Accident is responsible for leading the performance, outcomes and ongoing development of Blue Zebra’s Personal Accident Claims function.

The role oversees the day-to-day operation of the claims team, ensuring claims are managed consistently, efficiently and in line with regulatory, insurer and internal requirements. Working closely with brokers, insurer partners and internal stakeholders, you will drive strong claims outcomes, maintain effective governance frameworks and contribute to the continuous improvement of claims processes and service delivery.

This is a leadership role that combines technical claims expertise, people leadership and commercial acumen to deliver a claims experience that builds broker confidence and supports sustainable portfolio growth.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, insurer partners and key stakeholders.
  • Drive cost-effective and strategic claims management, identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce leakage.
  • Monitor claims reserving, reporting and significant claim developments, ensuring timely escalation where required.
  • Partner with Operations and broader Claims teams to implement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Oversee engagement and performance of external providers and specialists.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain delegated authorities, claims procedures and operational documentation.
  • Represent the Claims function in audits, insurer reviews and regulatory enquiries.
  • Contribute insights to underwriting and product teams by identifying claims trends, emerging risks and portfolio improvement opportunities.

About you

You’re an experienced claims leader who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, people-focused approach. You understand the balance between customer outcomes, commercial performance and regulatory obligations, and you’re comfortable making decisions in complex or high-value claims environments.

You enjoy developing people, building trusted relationships and creating clear, consistent ways of working. You bring strong judgement, a collaborative mindset and a focus on continuous improvement, helping teams achieve great outcomes while maintaining high standards of governance and service.

You’ll bring
