About the Role
We are seeking a creative, commercially minded and data-driven Social Media Specialist to take ownership of Blue Illusion’s social media presence and help drive brand growth through compelling
storytelling, innovative content and strategic performance insights. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this is a hands-on creative role that combines strategy, content creation, analytics and campaign execution. You’ll regularly attend photoshoots, events and campaign launches, capturing engaging behind-the-scenes content while helping tell the Blue Illusion story across every digital touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies aligned with brand voice and business objectives.
- Own and manage Blue Illusion’s social content calendar, ensuring a consistent mix of campaign, product, editorial, community and trend-led content.
- Manage and maintain Blue Illusion’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and emerging platforms.
- Create, capture, edit, schedule and publish engaging platform-first content, including short-form video, reels, behind-the-scenes content and photography.
- Attend campaign shoots, styling sessions, retail events and brand activations to capture engaging real-time content.
- Source, coordinate and manage user-generated content (UGC) and creator content opportunities.
- Build relationships with influencers and content creators, coordinating gifting, content briefs and partnership opportunities.
- Analyse social media performance and campaign results, providing monthly reporting and actionable recommendations to improve engagement, audience growth, website traffic and ecommerce performance.
- Identify emerging trends, audience behaviours, platform updates and competitor activity, adapting ideas in a way that feels authentic to the Blue Illusion brand..
- Work alongside Paid Media to identify high-performing organic content suitable for amplification.
- Engage with our online community by responding to comments, direct messages and customer conversations in a timely, professional and brand-aligned manner.
About You
- 1–2 years’ experience in social media, content creation or digital marketing.
- Experience creating engaging short-form video and social-first content for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
- Strong copywriting skills with an excellent understanding of storytelling and brand tone of voice.
- Proficiency using social media scheduling and analytics platforms.
- Experience with CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing software.
- Understanding of Meta Business Suite, TikTok analytics and social media reporting.
- Highly creative with a strong eye for styling, composition, photography and visual storytelling.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys contributing ideas and working cross-functionally.
- Experience within fashion, retail or lifestyle brands is highly regarded.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle, as travel to shoots and events is required.
