We are partnering with Homes NSW, the NSW Government division which leads the delivery of public housing across NSW, to invite Expressions of interest for current and upcoming Team Leader opportunities across Housing Services.
This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role supporting frontline teams who work directly with some of the most vulnerable members of the community—helping deliver safe, secure, and sustainable housing outcomes across NSW.
About the Opportunity
As a Team Leader, you will lead and support a team of housing professionals delivering frontline client services.
You’ll be responsible for driving performance, managing competing priorities, and ensuring high-quality, client-centred service delivery—while balancing operational, financial, and community outcomes.
The role will include:
- Leading, coaching and developing a team (approx. 15 staff) to deliver consistent, high-quality housing services
- Allocating workloads, monitoring performance, and ensuring service delivery targets are met
- Managing team budgets, resources, and compliance with legislation and policy frameworks
- Supporting tenancy management, property utilisation, and maintenance decisions
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including NSW Police, health services, and community organisations
- Driving collaboration across teams to improve service access, effectiveness and client outcomes
- Leading change initiatives and supporting your team through evolving service environments
- Contributing to district-level planning, service improvements, and community engagement initiatives
About You
You are a confident and capable leader who can balance people management with operational delivery in a high-pressure and fast-paced working environment.
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven experience leading teams in human services, housing, community services or similar sectors
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to coach, motivate and manage performance
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in complex or sensitive situations
- The ability to manage competing priorities, budgets and resources effectively
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across government and community networks
- A commitment to delivering person-centred, trauma-informed services
- Resilience and professionalism when navigating challenging behaviours and situations
Key Challenges
- Leading teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with competing demands
- Balancing client needs with asset management, policy requirements and budget constraints
- Managing complex stakeholder relationships across government and community sectors
- Responding to sensitive tenancy matters including anti-social behaviour
Essential Requirements
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Ability to pass relevant checks including National Criminal History Check & Working with Children Check (where required)
