Location: Various NSW locations Grade: Clerk Grade 7/8

We are partnering with Homes NSW, the NSW Government division which leads the delivery of public housing across NSW, to invite expressions of interest for current and upcoming Housing Manager opportunities across Housing Services.

This is an opportunity to lead from the front—supporting teams, strengthening communities, and ensuring safe, sustainable housing outcomes for some of the most vulnerable people across NSW.

About the Opportunity

As a Housing Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading local housing operations across tenancy and access functions in areas with high public housing demand and complex social needs.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Lead and support a team delivering frontline housing services
  • Oversee tenancy management including rent arrears, breaches, and vacancy management
  • Drive housing access and allocation decisions to support those in greatest need
  • Manage complex client and community issues, including anti-social behaviour
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policy, and performance standards
  • Support and mentor Client Service Officers and Senior staff
  • Build strong partnerships with community organisations and government agencies
  • Contribute to local service improvements, reporting, and performance outcomes

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

  • Strong experience in housing, tenancy, or community services
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams
  • Confidence managing complex cases and challenging behaviours
  • Sound knowledge of tenancy legislation and housing systems
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • A solutions-focused mindset with sound decision-making ability
  • Resilience and adaptability in high-pressure environments

Essential Requirements

  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to obtain relevant checks (WWCC, National Criminal History Check)
