About the Role Reporting to the Senior Group Finance Manager, you’ll own the month-end close, deliver sharp management accounts, and act as a trusted finance partner to operational teams across Australia and New Zealand — within a fast-moving, high-volume, low-margin environment where your insights drive real decisions.
You’ll support the NZ General Manager directly and contribute to cross-border finance across Australia, NZ, Singapore, Hong Kong and the USA.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute month-end close to working day 3 — journals, accruals, provisions and adjustments
- Prepare and distribute monthly NZ management accounts with insightful commentary
- Detailed reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and variance investigation
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial teams on cost analysis
- Inventory management, obsolescence reviews and valuation adjustments
- Freight and 3PL cost analysis — check and challenge vendor billings
- Support annual budget, GST preparation and external audit queries
Business Partnering
This role offers a genuine opportunity to step into business partnering, making it ideal for someone looking to grow beyond technical accounting into a more commercially focused position.
- Act as a trusted finance contact for Operations, Supply Chain and Commercial teams — translating financial data into clear, actionable insights
- Participate in commercial conversations, supporting pricing, margin analysis and cost-out initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships across the business to influence decisions and drive performance
- Present financial results and commentary to non-finance stakeholders in a clear and engaging way
- Challenge assumptions and provide proactive analysis that goes beyond reporting to drive business outcomes
- Support the development of business cases and investment proposals
What You’ll Bring
• 2+ years in a Management Accountant or Senior Financial Analyst role
• Accounting degree with CA/CPA/CIMA qualification (or near completion)
• Strong Excel skills · AUS/NZ GAAP · GST compliance knowledge
• Experience in FMCG, Distribution or high-volume trading environment preferred
Nice to have: NetSuite · Power BI · International markets experience
