About BioPak

BioPak is on a mission to transition the world away from single-use plastic packaging. Across five markets, our teams work every day to make sustainable packaging the default — not the exception. As we scale that mission, AI is becoming a core part of how we operate: faster decisions, smarter workflows, and more time for the work that actually matters. This role exists to make that real.

Role Summary

The AI Product Lead is the founding role for AI capability at BioPak, operating directly with the CTO at the intersection of technology, business, and people. The role is a working-leader: the most technically capable agent and Skill builder in the business, the owner of the AI Champions Programme that drives adoption across functional areas, and the lead voice on AI capability uplift across the organisation.

The role exists to translate BioPak’s AI strategy into shipped solutions, governed adoption, and durable capability. It owns the end-to-end lifecycle for AI initiatives across BioPak’s five markets — from problem discovery and use case scoping, through agent and Skill design, build, testing, deployment, and adoption, into ongoing governance and capability uplift. BioPak’s AI environment is anchored on Claude Enterprise (Anthropic) as the company-wide default for all staff, and a maturing agent stack on Co-pilot Studio, Claude Managed Agents, and Workato.

This is a hands-on role. BioPak does not have an internal AI delivery team — the AI Product Lead is builder and leader. The role is expected to write prompts, author Skills, configure agents, build and integrate MCP servers, and ship use cases personally. External contractors may be engaged for surge capacity on specific builds. Alongside building, the role coaches AI Champions to grow capability across the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Capability Building and Champions Programme

Own the AI Champions Programme in partnership with the COO and the Head of People & Culture. Maintain BioPak’s AI Prompting Library and Skills register as living artefacts, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Deliver the AI Training and Literacy programme — baseline module for all staff, role-specific training, Champions deep-dive, and new starter onboarding. Coach Champions, IT, and business power users in agent design, prompt engineering, Skill authoring, and safe AI practice.

2. AI Business Consultation and Roadmap

Run structured discovery with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and the international markets to identify high-value AI use cases. Translate business problems into scoped AI use cases with clear success criteria. Partner with the COO and CTO to maintain and prioritise the AI Use Case Pipeline across commercial value, data readiness, and capability fit. Represent the AI programme in business forums and leadership updates. Own production agent reliability through robust observability, kill switches, audit logging, service account hygiene, and bi-annual reviews.

3. AI Agent and Platform Delivery

Design, build, and ship AI Skills, MCP integrations, and Tier 3 agents on Claude Managed Agents, Co-pilot Studio, and Workato. Set and maintain the technical standard for agent and Skill design at BioPak — the bar that Champions and contractors work to. Own production agent reliability — observability, kill switches, audit logging, service account hygiene, and 6-monthly reviews. Engage and direct external contractors for surge capacity where needed.

4. AI Governance Operationalisation

Run the quarterly AI governance review with the CTO, COO, Head of IT, Head of People & Culture, and CFO. Maintain the AI Tool Register and Skills register; ensure new tools and connectors follow the AI Tool Assessment process. Operationalise the AI Acceptable Use Policy and Data Classification & Handling Policy in everyday use — the CTO owns policy, this role makes it real.

5. AI Value Measurement

Define and track success metrics for each AI initiative — adoption rates, error rates, time saved, and business outcomes. Build feedback loops from deployed agents back into the use case pipeline and product backlog.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience designing and shipping production AI agents or Skills — has built and operated, not just prototyped or advised
  • Strong working knowledge of LLM platforms (Anthropic Claude preferred), MCP, RAG, and agent orchestration patterns
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation frameworks, observability for AI systems, and production agent operations
  • API and integration literacy across enterprise SaaS — REST, GraphQL, webhooks, OAuth, enterprise data models
  • Demonstrated coaching and capability-building experience — evidence of capability transfer, not just project delivery
  • Strong stakeholder management across business and technical audiences
  • Track record of driving post-deployment adoption — an AI tool nobody uses is a failed project
  • Governance instinct — data privacy, AI risk, and enterprise change management
  • Experience with AI governance frameworks and implementing AI acceptable use and data handling policies
  • Comfort with ambiguity — this is a founding role without an established playbook

Highly Desirable

  • Hands-on experience with Claude Managed Agents, Claude Code, or comparable agent runtimes
  • Experience building MCP servers or comparable enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience designing or running an enterprise AI literacy or champions programme
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, HubSpot, Adobe Commerce, Workato, or Snowflake
  • Background in change management, technical training, or learning design
  • Multi-market or international technology experience

Why BioPak

This is a rare opportunity to build AI capability from the ground up inside a business with genuine purpose and real scale. You won’t be inheriting someone else’s stack or working to someone else’s playbook — you’ll be setting the standard, building the programme, and having a direct line to the CTO and executive leadership. If you want to do meaningful work with real autonomy, this is it.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging

At BioPak, sustainability isn’t just about packaging — it extends to the kind of workplace we’re building. We believe diverse perspectives make our products better, our decisions sharper, and our culture stronger. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences are genuinely welcome and can do their best work.

We actively encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disability, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and people at all stages of their careers. If you need adjustments to participate fully in our recruitment process, please let us know — we’ll make it work.
