We are currently seeking an Internal Sales & Purchasing Officer to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our Mt Druitt, NSW branch.

The Opportunity

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with customers, suppliers and internal teams. You will be responsible for supporting internal sales activity, processing customer orders, preparing quotes, raising purchase orders and assisting with stock and supplier coordination.

You will play an important role in ensuring customers receive timely service, orders are processed accurately, and purchasing requirements are followed up efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Respond to customer enquiries by phone, email and in person.
  • Prepare quotes, process orders and follow up customer requests.
  • Support account managers and the wider sales team with customer service and administration.
  • Raise purchase orders and liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and delivery timeframes.
  • Follow up backorders, supplier ETAs and stock availability.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to support accurate and timely order fulfilment.
  • Maintain accurate customer, supplier and product information in internal systems.
  • Assist with general branch administration as required.

About You

You will bring:

  • Previous experience in internal sales, customer service, purchasing or branch administration.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers and suppliers.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn internal systems quickly.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience in timber, building products, construction supplies or a similar industry would be highly regarded.
