Bidgerdii Community Health Services is an Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in
the Rockhampton and wider Central Queensland region for more than 30 years.
Our services include general practice bulk-billing clinics, social
and emotional wellbeing and generalist counselling services, chronic disease
management, preventative health screening, children and family health and early
childhood education services.

Minimum Requirements of the role:
- Completion of Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or
Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of delivering
culturally appropriate services, including an understanding of the issues
that impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander people.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal
supervision, and as a member of a team, including the ability to
prioritise tasks, manage workloads, respond to organisational demand, and
deal with matters of a confidential and sensitive nature;
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written
communication skills including the ability to consult, negotiate, liaise,
and communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander people;
- Demonstrated knowledge of diabetes management, or a
strong interest and passion for supporting people living with diabetes.
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, or
working with community-based programs and stakeholders.
Practical Requirements:
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential
- Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of
employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated
against the following vaccine-preventable diseases: measles, mumps,
rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, and pertussis (whooping
cough) during their employment
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young
people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card – essential
- Satisfactory Police Check – essential
