Our services include general practice bulk-billing clinics, social and emotional wellbeing and generalist counselling services, chronic disease management, preventative health screening, children and family health and early childhood education services.

Minimum Requirements of the role:

  • Completion of Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of delivering culturally appropriate services, including an understanding of the issues that impact on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as a member of a team, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads, respond to organisational demand, and deal with matters of a confidential and sensitive nature;
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal and written communication skills including the ability to consult, negotiate, liaise, and communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of diabetes management, or a strong interest and passion for supporting people living with diabetes.
  •  Experience in community engagement, outreach, or working with community-based programs and stakeholders.

 

Practical Requirements:

 

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential 
  • Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine-preventable diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card – essential
  • Satisfactory Police Check – essential
