About Us
Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander community-controlled primary health care service that
has proudly supported communities across Central Queensland for almost 30
years.
We provide comprehensive primary health and wellbeing
services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout
Blackwater, Rockhampton, and surrounding regions.

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and community-focused Indigenous
Outreach Worker to join our Integrated Team Care / Allied Health Services team
based in Emerald.
This role works closely with clients, allied health
professionals, and community stakeholders to support Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander people living with chronic health conditions.
The successful candidate will help facilitate access to
multidisciplinary care, promote health awareness, and strengthen relationships
between mainstream primary care and Indigenous health services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients to access appropriate health
and wellbeing services
- Promoting
the Closing the Gap and Integrated Team Care (ITC) programs
- Building
strong relationships with GPs, health professionals, and community
organisations
- Assisting
clients to better manage chronic health conditions
- Delivering
culturally appropriate, non-clinical support services
- Advocating
for improved health outcomes within the community

About You
You are passionate about improving health outcomes for
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and have the ability to build
strong, respectful relationships across community and health sectors.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant
qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Strong
computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
- Highly
developed interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Understanding
of the health challenges impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
communities
- Experience
delivering culturally safe and sensitive support services
Essential Requirements
- Current
QLD C Class Driver Licence
- Current
CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Current
Blue Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Satisfactory
Police Check
- Ability
to meet vaccination requirements including:
- Measles,
Mumps, Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis
A & B
- Pertussis
(Whooping Cough)
