The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Accountant to join our Business Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in professional practice, gain hands-on experience, and build a strong foundation in accounting and taxation.
You will work closely with Managers and senior team members to support the delivery of high-quality services to a diverse client base, while developing your technical and client-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare income tax returns in line with relevant legal, regulatory, and taxation standards
- Assist in preparing draft financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
- Process source documentation to produce accurate trial balances
- Support the planning, execution, and completion of client engagements
- Prepare clear and concise workpapers to evidence work performed
- Assist with BAS, FBT returns, and other compliance requirements
- Contribute to the preparation of management reports and client deliverables
- Identify and escalate issues to senior team members in a timely manner
- Undertake self-review of work, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Assist with administrative tasks to support the Business Services team
About You
- Recently completed (or nearing completion of) a relevant degree with an Accounting major
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and taxation concepts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; exposure to accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB) is beneficial but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn
- Positive attitude with a proactive and team-oriented approach
