Imagine owning the delivery of a first-of-its-kind project, one that will shape how complex mechanical systems are built and deployed across Australia and beyond. Benmax has spent 40 years earning a reputation for excellence, and now we’re taking on some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects in the region. This is your chance to step into a pivotal role, influence how this new delivery model comes to life, and grow your career while you do it.

As our Project Manager, you’ll own end-to-end delivery on projects in the $50-100 million range, leading budgets, programs, and subcontractor relationships across some genuinely complex, multi-trade scopes. The role requires a willingness to travel nationally and internationally when projects demand it. If you’re a natural problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments and values open, honest communication, this is your opportunity to do some of the most interesting work in the industry.

You can expect to:

  • Develop, document and implement project plans, tracking milestones, deliverables and budgets
  • Manage contracts, subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, variations and project correspondence
  • Lead project start-up meetings and ongoing team meetings
  • Manage invoicing, receivables and approval of project payables
  • Coordinate labour requirements and cost codes across site teams
  • Review drawings for QA sign-off and manufacture
  • Participate in internal and external QA audits and contribute to improving systems and processes
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Support business development, including converting construction projects into ongoing maintenance work
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
  • Ensure compliance with Benmax WHSEQ systems and relevant codes and standards

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum eight years of experience in project management, delivering complex construction projects in the $50-100 million range
  • Proven experience across multi-trade or modular construction projects, end-to-end
  • Experience managing large site teams and leading cadets or junior project managers
  • Strong commercial acumen across contracts, budgets, variations and forecasting
  • Sound knowledge of construction and WHS requirements
  • Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable having difficult conversations when needed
  • Clear, direct communicator who raises issues early and comes with solutions
  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally when required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite; Procore and Aconex experience highly regarded
  • Permanent working rights in Australia

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
  • PMP, AIPM or equivalent professional certification (desirable)
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Certificate IV in WHS (desirable)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
