Discover Be Positive Therapy
At Be Positive Therapy, we do more than provide allied health services; we create a space where clients feel supported and our team feels valued. As a trusted provider across the NDIS, Aged Care, and Medicolegal sectors, we deliver personalised therapy and assessment services that make a genuine difference in people’s lives. Our team is built on collaboration, clinical excellence, and flexibility. We support clinicians to thrive professionally while maintaining a strong focus on quality care, innovation, and meaningful outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
We currently operate across Victoria, Queensland, and Tasmania, offering diverse and meaningful opportunities for clinicians across specialties including mental health, physical disability, home modifications, assistive technology, paediatrics, and behaviour support.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Occupational Therapist to join our team in a newly created Clinical Triage and Intake Coordinator role. We are specifically seeking clinicians based in Melbourne or Tasmania to support referral demand across these regions.
This is a senior clinical coordination position focused on ensuring all Occupational Therapy referrals are clinically reviewed, appropriately triaged, and allocated to the most suitably qualified therapist. The role plays a critical part in creating a smooth and client-centred transition from referral through to ongoing clinical service delivery. In this role you will work closely alongside the clinical managers and administration team to support the transition of work to clinicians. The role will also have a strong medicolegal focus, supporting the review and coordination of medicolegal referrals and documentation processes across the business.
Depending on intake volumes, the successful candidate may also carry a small clinical caseload.
In This Role, You Will:
- Conduct telehealth intake assessments for Occupational Therapy referrals.
- Clinically triage referrals to determine suitability, urgency, and service requirements.
- Allocate referrals to therapists based on skillset, experience, location, and client needs.
- Support timely intake, scheduling, and coordination processes.
- Identify and escalate clinical risks or safeguarding concerns.
- Liaise with clients, families, referrers, legal representatives, and clinicians.
- Review incoming medicolegal referrals for appropriateness.
- Complete medicolegal quotes and scopes of work.
- Prepare medicolegal briefs and set up report templates for clinicians.
- Support workflow coordination within the medicolegal stream.
- Maintain accurate documentation and internal systems.
- Undertake a small clinical caseload where required.
You’ll Shine If You:
- Are an AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist.
- Have a minimum of 6 years’ postgraduate experience as an OT.
- Have strong clinical reasoning and advanced assessment skills.
- Are confident managing complex presentations and multiple stakeholders.
- Have excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, clinicians, and referrers.
- Can work autonomously while balancing competing priorities.
- Have previous medicolegal experience or a strong interest in the medicolegal space.
Highly Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in intake, triage, or clinical coordination.
- Experience preparing medicolegal, insurance, or compensation reports.
- Understanding of NDIS and allied health service pathways.
- Senior clinician or leadership experience.
