About the Role

As a Production Supervisor within our Commercial Services team, you will support and encourage employees to achieve and maintain high levels of productivity and quality across a range of work programs.

In this hands-on role, you will work closely with individuals, families and advocates to promote choice and control, while guiding and supporting the development of individual work plans.

This role requires providing assistance and support to vulnerable individuals, making a meaningful impact on their lives.

Key responsibilities

  • Uphold Barkuma’s mission, values, and the NDIS Code of Conduct, demonstrating respectful behaviour at all times.
  • Foster a positive, learning-focused culture, promoting high-quality services and excellence while actively representing Barkuma in the community.
  • Provide person-centred, non-restrictive support to employees, working closely with individuals, families, and advocates to enhance choice, control, and participation in work programs.
  • Supervise, support, and encourage employees to achieve and maintain high productivity and work quality, while actively contributing to operational tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records, complete wage assessments, training plans, and appraisals, and assist in preparing NDIS and government reports as required.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders, participate in meetings and strategic planning, and ensure confidentiality and compliance with information-sharing guidelines.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development, supporting Barkuma’s certifications and service excellence, while undertaking additional duties as required.

 

What you will need be successful in this role:

  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, demonstrating initiative, sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, and a high standard of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and computer skills, with the ability to develop knowledge of program requirements.
  • Professional commitment to supporting people with disabilities, particularly adults with intellectual disabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment services, production processes, manual handling principles, HACCP & GMP processes and requirements
  • Understanding of WHS and Quality assurance systems and National Standards for Disability Services

 Qualifications and Clearances:

  • Cert III or Cert IV in Disability is desirable
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current DHS Working with Children check
  • Appropriate Child Safe Environments certificate
  • Appropriate First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate
  • Appropriate infection control certificate

Special Conditions 

  • Ability to work at any Barkuma location as directed
  • Current South Australian Driver’s Licence (restricted provisional licence and above)
  • Appropriate work rights for Australia
