About the Role
Southern Ocean Lodge is seeking a passionate Experiences Guide to deliver thoughtful, personalised guest experiences in one of Australia’s most celebrated luxury lodge settings.
In this role, you will be connecting guests with the remarkable natural and cultural landscape of Kangaroo Island. From guided wildlife walks to curated island excursions, you will play a key part in creating meaningful moments that guests will carry with them long after they leave.
This is a residential role based on Kangaroo Island, with accommodation and meals provided onsite.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering a range of guided nature, wildlife and cultural experiences
- Providing personalised service and in-depth local knowledge to guests
- Ensuring all experiences are conducted safely and to the highest standard
- Collaborating with the guest services and lodge teams to coordinate daily programming
- Maintaining vehicles, equipment and experience areas to a high standard
- Sharing the story of Kangaroo Island’s unique environment with genuine enthusiasm
- Supporting the lodge’s commitment to regenerative and low-impact tourism
About You
You are a passionate and knowledgeable guide who thrives on sharing the natural world with curious and discerning guests.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in a guiding, ecotourism or nature-based hospitality role
- A genuine passion for wildlife, conservation and the natural environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage a diverse range of guests
- Current driver’s licence, ideally with experience driving 4WD or larger vehicles
- Relevant first aid certification, or willingness to obtain
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
- Current Australian working rights
