The Opportunities

We’re looking for reliable and team-focused drivers to join our school bus service in permanent part-time roles during term time.

Role 1: Permanent part-time Monday-Friday

Role 2: Permanent part-time Friday PLUS option to pick up casual days Monday-Thursday.

These roles involve split shifts, supporting morning pick-ups and afternoon drop-offs with small groups of students (maximum 12 passengers), ensuring a safe and positive journey to and from school.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Safely transporting students on a privately operated school bus
  • Managing pick-up and drop-off routes during split shifts
  • Building positive, respectful relationships with students
  • Working collaboratively within a supportive transport team

So, what does it look like to be a Bus Driver with Autism QLD? The safety of our children is a vital priority, that’s why our bus teams are so important in ensuring the safety and comfort of children with autism during their transportation to and from our Sunnybank Hills campus.

Your kindness and patience will create a supportive environment for our young learners, fostering a positive experience on their journey. In this role you will assist children with boarding, buckling seat belts, and safely transporting them to and from our Sunnybank site each day.

While our top priority is finding people who share our genuine passion in supporting our clients, here are a few things the right person will be equipped with: 

  • Light Rigid Driver’s License.
  • Driver Authorisation.
  • Working with Children Blue Card – or able to obtain.
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively within a team environment.
  • Current First Aid qualification and CPR.
