The Opportunity

We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented CMRS Administrator to join our Research, Guidance and Practice team.

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and assuring the compliance, suitability, and technical integrity of cementitious materials used in public infrastructure. You will play a key role in safeguarding material quality and reliability by ensuring alignment with technical specifications and regulatory requirements.

This is a meaningful part-time opportunity suited to a qualified analytical chemist or chemical engineer who is passionate about applying technical expertise to real-world infrastructure outcomes.

Responsibilities

This exciting role will involve the following:

  • Assess applications for new product registrations under the CMRS
  • Ensure registered materials meet required technical criteria and testing frequencies
  • Review, analyse, and interpret chemical and physical test data
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and non-conformances against specifications
  • Conduct root cause analysis to mitigate risks associated with non-conforming products
  • Collaborate with industry participants, suppliers, and manufacturers to resolve compliance issues
  • Liaise with NATA-accredited laboratories on testing methodologies, protocols, and results
  • Maintain accurate and defensible records of assessments and decisions
  • Provide clear, evidence-based advice to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement of testing, assessment processes, and specifications

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong technical, analytical, and statistical capability
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting laboratory test data
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and validation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Desirable:

  • Experience in compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory environments
  • Knowledge of cementitious materials (e.g. cement, fly ash, slag)
  • Experience working with accredited testing laboratories
  • Familiarity with government or infrastructure sectors
