Program Support Coordinator, Australian Volunteers Program 

  • Fixed term contract until 31 March 2027 
  • Full-time role based in AVI Head Office in Fitzroy.
  • Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Total Remuneration Package between $89,000 to $109,433 commensurate to experience

AVI supports the implementation of the Australian Volunteers Program on behalf of the Australian Government. The Australian Volunteers Program enables skilled Australian volunteers to support partner organisations in 26 countries across the Pacific, Asia and Africa to progress their development objectives. 

Role overview  

The Program Support Coordinator plays a significant role in supporting systems and processes across program countries, while coordinating improvement initiatives that help the program operate smoothly, effectively, and efficiently.

Position Requirements 

  • Proven high level organisational, program, project and change coordination and time management skills 
  • Advanced skills in word processing, excel spread sheet, presentation and database software applications 
  • High level interpersonal skills and the ability to sustain effective relationships at all levels of the organisation including at the Management level 
  • Proven ability to apply sensitivity and diplomacy when the situation requires it 
  • Strong attention to detail to undertake work with a high level of accuracy 
  • Strong written communication skills including the ability to draft letters and prepare reports in a professional manner 
  • Demonstrated flexibility and capacity to work independently 
  • Tertiary degree in international development, community services, arts, social or political science and/or relevant experience.
