We’re on the search for an experienced Member Relations Manager to join the Australian Retail Council (ARC), the unified voice of the retail community in Australia.
This part-time role (3 days per week) reports to the Director of Member Relations and works with retailers of all shapes and sizes with a focus on our small and medium members (SMB), the backbone of our retail community. This exciting and varied role will be focused on nurturing existing members and developing new membership prospects
You are always looking for business development opportunities to turn prospects into ARC members. Your experience in sales along with excellent communication and negotiation skills will help you engage and excite prospects on what ARC has to offer.
You will support ARC members as one of the first points of contact for our membership. Other activities will include supporting the achievement of membership targets through a range of member engagement, acquisition, retention, and satisfaction strategies.
About the Role:
This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) fixed term contract role (12 months parental leave cover).
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage the member experience through exceptional customer service, communication and promotion of ARC member initiatives and services.
- Undertake member engagement meetings and prospect meetings to support membership growth and engagement in line with performance targets.
- Manage and support the transition of SMB members to a new ARC pricing model.
- Undertake new business development through identifying and nurturing leads from initial stage to final outcome.
- Provide hands-on support to the Director of Member Relations on strategic projects, ensuring milestones are met and outcomes achieved.
- Provide reporting and analysis of member insights.
- Respond to membership enquiries, providing advice and guidance to members and prospective members about ARC products, services, and benefits.
- Onboard new ARC members and develop positive relationships.
- Ownership and coordination of member renewal processes.
- Prioritise data integrity and maintain our CRM database for membership data.
- Attend and support ARC at appropriate member events.
- Work collaboratively with the Member Relations team and other ARC staff to facilitate a positive member experience and support the delivery of membership engagement activities.
About You:
Some of your talents and attributes include:
- 3+ years’ experience working in a membership-based organisation, with responsibility for membership management or working in a retail environment managing retail sales targets, would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering services for a membership base (or a similar stakeholder base).
- Experience in business development, sales and/or account management and achievement of performance indicators.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including navigating sensitive or complex discussions with confidence.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong networks and leverage relationships.
- Highly developed written, oral communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong computer literacy and experience using CRM reporting and using data and information strategically would be highly regarded.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Ability to think strategically and problem solve.
- Self-driven and can work autonomously as well as part of team.
- Experience working in the retail industry would be highly regarded.
