  • Salary from $130,000 p.a (commensurate with skills and experience) plus superannuation\
  • Full time, fixed term position to 31 January 2027
  • Fully remote, work from home (Australia-wide) with occasional travel to partner sites and for team meetings

Purpose of the role

The Senior Advisor, Implementation (Schools) is responsible for leading key functions within the AERO Implementation Division regarding how AERO encourages the effective implementation of evidence in Australian schools.

These functions include advising on guidance to help schools implement evidence-based teaching practices, supporting the communication of implementation project learnings, and building internal capability and coherence on evidence-informed implementation approaches. 

Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with the Implementation Manager, Senior Consultants, Implementation and Evaluation staff to build a thorough understanding of our approach to the implementation of evidence-based teaching practices in school settings, as well as key project learnings and evaluation findings.
  • Use implementation expertise and key project learnings to provide advisory support to other AERO project teams and divisions who are working towards the implementation of evidence based teaching practices.
  • Lead the development of implementation content and materials that effectively capture and promote implementation research, project learnings, evaluation findings and school stories, and work closely with the Strategic Communications and Strategic Policy and Engagement team on widespread promotion.
  • Lead the process to adapt and build on implementation resources, and ensure all guidance is informed by implementation-related research, project learnings and evaluation findings.
  • Lead and support other staff who are also working within the advisory functions of the Implementation division.
  • Keep abreast of implementation science research and other literature and projects as they relate to the effective implementation of evidence in school settings and support the ongoing capability building of AERO staff on this.
  • Provide day-to-day management of implementation functions, in collaboration with the Implementation Manager, and provide timely updates to the Implementation Director, including issues that need to be, or have been, addressed, and implications for AERO’s implementation strategy.
  • Prepare papers and submissions to the Executive and Board as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and / or advanced knowledge of, or experience in, implementation science, behaviour change, professional learning, evidence use and/or evidence-based practices.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in education, education-related projects and/or working with schools. Experience leading complex functions, understanding different stakeholder needs, monitoring progress and adapting as required.  Experience working collegially with multiple teams and providing advice and support as needed.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for establishing positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and negotiating and influencing when required. 
  • Excellent written skills for internal and external communications, content development, reportm writing and resource development.
  • Capacity to take initiative, work with ambiguity and develop strategies to prevent or overcome issues.
