Field Service Representative – BESS Technician (Traveling)

Position Overview Aurora is seeking experienced Field Service Representatives to support Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) operations across utility-scale and commercial sites nationwide. This role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical work supporting installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of battery storage systems and associated equipment in field environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of BESS systems including batteries, PCS, inverters, and balance of system components.
  • Support system startup, energization, and performance verification activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, communication, and control system faults within BESS infrastructure.
  • Conduct testing such as insulation resistance, functional checks, and system diagnostics.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control diagrams.
  • Complete service reports, commissioning checklists, and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow NFPA 70E, OSHA, and applicable electrical safety standards at all times.
  • Work with engineering and field teams to resolve system issues and improve reliability.
  • Travel to job sites as required.

Required Qualifications

  • • 3-5 years of experience in electrical field service, BESS, solar, or related energy systems.
  • Strong understanding of DC systems and AC power systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and single-line diagrams.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide for field assignments.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work outdoors, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.
