About the role:
Due to rapid growth and a strong pipeline of client projects, we are currently looking for an experienced Principal Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Engineer to lead the design, development and delivery of advanced modelling & simulation (M&S) capabilities across several Defence projects. This role will be based on-site at DSTG Edinburgh and will work in close collaboration with clients, stakeholders and multi-disciplinary engineering and science teams.
As a technical leader, you will guide multi-disciplinary teams, influence system architectural changes, and ensure high-quality, credible simulation outcomes are aligned with customer objectives.
This role would suit someone with a background in software development, synthetic test & evaluation, modelling & simulation, or electromagnetic warfare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a M&S experimentation strategy that defines objectives, validation activities and outcomes that align with stakeholder requirements
- Lead a team of software and research engineers through the development, integration, testing, and V&V of EW models within the M&S framework
- Provide technical authority across EW simulation, analysis and experimentation activities
- Translate operational EW concepts into validated modelling approaches
- Oversee experimental design, execution, and analysis
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability growth within the team
- Deliver structured simulation training programs for end-users
- Produce reports and supporting documentation that consolidate simulation outputs into clear recommendations and insights for stakeholders
About you:
- Extensive experience in Electronic Warfare systems and concepts (e.g. Radar, SIGINT, EA/EAP, etc..)
- Strong background in modelling & simulation, including tools, frameworks, and synthetic environments
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver complex defence projects
- Experience designing and analysing experiments and interpreting results
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Bachelors degree in engineering, science, or a related field
- Familiarity with software development (e.g. C++, C#, MATLAB) is desirable
Due to a requirement to be eligible for a NV1 security clearance, Australian Citizenship is required.
We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Please reach out to careers@aurizn.co if you have any particular needs that we can support you with throughout this process.
