As a Pit Technician, you’ll play a vital team-based technical role, supporting all areas of the mining geology department. You’ll need a broad skill set, a strong understanding of critical mine geology processes in gold, and a flexible, proactive approach to assist where needed.
This critical role provides dynamic support across the geology team, helping maintain operational continuity.

This is a full-time permanent position, direct with Aurenne Mining.
The roster is an 8:6 | 8:6 | 7:7 rotating dayshift /dayshift / nightshift to ensure continuous mining coverage with a start date of 2nd June 2026.
Your duties will include:
- Supervising ore mark-outs and ore extraction to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
- Ore spotting – documenting tonnages as material is excavated and visually assessing every bucket.
- Assisting mine geologists with sampling, mapping, and geological data collection.
- Ensuring grade control and resource definition samples are collected and managed to required standards.
- Monitoring QA/QC processes for sampling and assaying.
- Performing grade and bulk density checks through regular sampling.
- Assisting with pit mapping activities.
- Maintaining strong communication with geology, engineering, surveying, and mining teams.
About you:
- Minimum 12 months recent experience as a Pit Technician ideally in a gold mining environment.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a hands-on attitude.
- Comfortable working outdoors in a dynamic mining environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, geological databases, and Google Earth imagery.
- Positive, adaptable mindset and a strong team player.
- Current WA “C” Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
