Opportunity to make a difference

Join our state-wide Through Care Team with a direct focus on female youth clients who are considered to be of a high-risk of reoffending.

**This is a fixed term contract until June 2027**

The role:

  • Deliver intensive and high-quality casework to a discrete number of targeted female youth detainees (both pre and post release);
  • Work collaboratively with correctional facility staff, specialist advocates and other stakeholders;
  • Provide specialist referral pathways to youth clients and their families, and in many contexts, their communities;
  • Report on impact of your case work and network referrals;

About you:

  • Offer your experience with a Degree in Social Work or Behavioural Sciences from a recognised tertiary institution (or a minimum five (5) years’ demonstrated work experience with equivalent competencies relating to the case management of clients in the Criminal Justice System);
  • Must be the holder (or be eligible for immediate application) of a current Queensland Government Blue Card prior to commencing work;
  • Demonstrate your professional familiarity with the Criminal Justice System;
  • Must hold a current Driver Licence, have a reliable driving history and be willing to drive for work (essential);
  • Experience working with clients in our network is highly regarded as are qualifications, research or current studies related to trauma-informed practice with young people and children.

ATSILS claims exemption under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act, Section 25 (Genuine Occupational Requirement). It is a genuine occupational requirement to be female, to be able to provide a steady service to all clients but with a particular focus on adult females (and their families).
