About Us
ATOM Modular is a fast-growing family business that manufactures functional spaces for hardworking people. We build modular units in our factory — properly, to spec, and on time. We’ve got big plans, and we need carpenters who take pride in their craft.
The Role
This isn’t site work. You’ll be building modular units inside our factory — framing, fit-out, finishing — the same trade you know, just under a roof and out of the weather. Every unit moves down the line on a TAKT schedule, so when your station’s ready, the next one’s already coming. The work is steady, the standards are high, and what you build today gets delivered to a customer next week.
You’ll work as part of a small crew that owns the build from frame to finish. If something’s not right, you call it. If you see a better way to do it, we want to hear it.
Day to day, you’ll be:
- Framing walls, floors, and roof structures to drawings and spec
- Installing windows, doors, cladding, linings, and trims
- Fitting out interiors — cabinetry, joinery, fixtures
- Reading plans and working to tight tolerances (modular doesn’t forgive sloppy)
- Keeping your station clean, organised, and safe
- Working with the team to hit TAKT — no days lost on the sheet
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll fit in here if you:
- Own your work — you take responsibility, finish what you start, and don’t leave it for the next bloke
- Take pride in doing things properly, without needing to shout about it
- Back yourself to call problems early instead of hiding them
- Put safety first — yours and everyone else’s
You’ll also need:
- Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent recognised trade qualification)
- Solid hands-on experience — modular, prefab, or residential construction all work
- The ability to read plans and work to spec without constant checking
- White Card
- To be physically fit — this is a full-day-on-your-feet job
- A driver’s licence (handy, not essential)
Forklift licence, EWP ticket, or experience with cabinetry are all a plus.
