Description

Apex Building Products in Bendigo is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to help lead a safe, efficient, and productive warehouse. We are looking for a leader who is hands-on, leads from the front, and enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day operation alongside their team.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

Factory Operations 

  • Oversee and run daily operations while meeting customer demands and production targets. 
  • Handle ad-hoc issues with a calm hand and focus on problem solving. 
  • Manage production staff (15-20 people), including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce. 
  • Allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the production process while implementing best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs), 

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures and standards to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. 
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address quality issues and non-conformities. 

Health and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards in the production environment. 
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols among production staff. 
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, implementing preventative actions where required. 

 

About You 

  • Experience in a Supervisor or Manager role, ideally within building products, steel, or manufacturing environments  
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience managing and developing production teams. 
  • Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory coordination. 
  • Experience implementing quality systems, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Strong knowledge of WHS requirements in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Trade or technical background and/or formal qualifications in manufacturing, engineering, or operations management (desirable).
