About Us
We are returning to our roots. Since 2023 Nuvo & Ae Smith are privately owned business once more, and its an understatement to say we have gone through a bit of a transition period. We are still the same organisation that has operated for over 120 years as an Australian industry leader in HVAC, building services and electrical markets, but we have a renewed approach to the way we work and operate. As asset specialists, we understand our #1 asset is our people. We’re proud of our team’s depth and breadth of experience and with over 600 of us united in our work and our brands, it’s unsurprising our average employee tenure is market leading, but we are always keen on adding new faces to our team.
About the role
We are looking for a Reporting and Automation Analyst to
join our Operational Support team. This is a great opportunity for someone who
has already built experience in reporting, business analysis, systems, data, or
process improvement and is now looking to develop further in a role focused on
Power BI reporting, workflow automation, and practical business improvement. We
are not looking for someone who simply produces reports when asked. We are
looking for someone who wants to understand the business problem behind the
request. The right person will be curious, practical, and comfortable asking
questions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and
maintain Power BI dashboards and operational reports.
- Work with business
stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear,
useful outputs.
- Identify manual,
repetitive, or inefficient administrative processes that can be improved
or automated.
- Develop workflow
automations using Microsoft 365 tools such as Power Automate, SharePoint,
Forms, Excel, and related platforms.
- Support data quality by
identifying reporting issues and helping resolve root causes.
- Document processes,
reporting requirements, workflows, and user guidance.
- Help teams adopt new
reports, dashboards, and automated workflows.
- Contribute to continuous
improvement across operational and administrative processes.
About You
You do not need to be the finished product. We are looking
for someone with the right foundation, curiosity, and drive — someone who
enjoys solving problems, working with data, improving how teams operate, and
turning manual processes into smarter ways of working.
You will suit this role if you are someone who enjoys
working across both data and process improvement. You may currently be in a
reporting analyst, business analyst, systems analyst, data analyst, operations
analyst, or process improvement role and looking for a more focused opportunity
to develop in reporting and automation.
You are likely to have:
- Experience creating
reports, dashboards, or data analysis outputs, ideally using Power BI.
- Strong Excel skills and
confidence working with data.
- Some exposure to Power
BI, Power Query, DAX, or data modelling.
- An interest in
automation tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, Forms, or
similar.
- Experience working with
business users to understand requirements and solve practical problems.
- A good eye for detail
and a strong focus on accuracy.
- The ability to
communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A continuous improvement
mindset and a genuine interest in making work easier, clearer, and more
efficient.
What would make you stand out
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded,
but is not essential:
- Power BI dashboard
development in an operational or service-based environment.
- Power Platform tools,
particularly Power Automate.
- Business process mapping
or SOP documentation.
- ERP, CRM, ticketing,
work management, or operational systems.
- HVAC, electrical,
facilities, asset services, or technical service industries.
- Reporting across
operations, finance, commercial, or service delivery functions.
In return we will offer you:
- Joining a National organisation with a platform for rapid growth in FY 26/27 – career growth will be inherent in this position
- Establish and progress your career in a large Australian-owned and operated national business.
- GENUINELY strong culture – 99% of our staff are at our regional Xmas parties, strong turn outs to our social Tool Boxes, social clubs in the business.
- Career progression reinforced by our pipeline of work means you’ll have the opportunity to work on iconic projects and grow with the company.
- Competitive wages and allowances along with a salary sacrifice package and great working conditions are on offer.
- Zero Harm is embedded in team culture and is fundamental to the company’s future success. We believe that the physical and mental well-being of our employees is instrumental in our journey towards excellence. We therefore try to reinforce this philosophy through various employee support programs and offerings to assist you and your family’s healthy lifestyle.
