Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

As the Activist Support + Administrator, you play an important role in supporting and strengthening activist engagement across campaigns and movement-building activities. You help create positive and accessible experiences for activists by coordinating communications, supporting events and training, and ensuring activists have the information, resources and connections they need to take action for human rights. Through strong administration, data management and responsive support, you contribute to building an active, informed and connected activist network that advances organisational campaigns and advocacy outcomes.

KEY DUTIES

Activist Support and Coordination

  • First point of contact for activist enquiries and support requests.
  • Support approval, coordination and promotion of activist events and activities.
  • Assist activists to access materials, information and campaign processes.
  • Provide logistical support for campaign and activist training activities.

Communications

  • Produce and distribute communications to activists and activist leaders across a range of channels.
  • Support clear communication of campaign updates, opportunities and organisational information.
  • Assist in managing organising and activist inboxes and connecting activists with relevant staff.

Data and Administration

  • Maintain accurate activist, volunteer and event records using organisational systems.
  • Capture and report on activist engagement, event participation and training outcomes, ensuring timely and accurate data and data entry.
  • Support reporting and evaluation activities relating to activist engagement.
  • Other tasks within your skills and competence as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience supporting activists, volunteers or community organising activities with an understanding of community organising and supporter engagement principles.
  • Demonstrated administrative, organisational and coordination skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using databases, spreadsheets, digital communications and online organising tools.
  • Strong data entry and record management experience.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRABLE

  • Demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with rights holders
