Amity Health are seeking a dedicated Peer Support Worker to join our Integrated Primary Mental Health Care (IPMHC) Program across the Great Southern and Wheatbelt regions.

In this role, we encourage you to draw on your lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, to support our clients accessing the service. As a welcoming first point of contact, providing empathetic, recovery-oriented support, helping people feel heard, understood, and connected to the care they need.

About The Program

Funded by the WA Primary Health Alliance, the IPMHC program offers fully funded support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges across regional WA. IPMHC exists to address the significant physical and mental health inequities experienced by people living with mental health issues by improving access to equitable, culturally safe, and integrated care. Grounded in an understanding of the social, economic, and environmental drivers of health inequity, the program delivers flexible, biopsychosocial and collaborative responses that address barriers to care and support early intervention, improved health outcomes, and overall well-being.

About the Role

In a highly supportive environment, this is a genuine opportunity to use your lived experience to help and support our clients. This includes holding space for people during difficult conversations and allowing them to share their story, connecting them with appropriate services, developing person-centred individual support plans, walking alongside them throughout their recovery journey, and linking them with local community and social service partners.

Our  part-time position is 2 days per week, located in Albany, WA.
