Description

We’re looking for an organised, proactive Construction Coordinator to support our State Construction team and help deliver high‑quality insurance repair projects. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy problem‑solving, and can keep multiple moving parts on track, this role will suit you well.

About the Role

You’ll provide coordination and administrative support across insurance repair projects, ensuring jobs progress smoothly from initial allocation through to completion. This includes assisting State Construction Managers and Supervisors, coordinating trades, tracking permits, maintaining compliance, and managing claims up to $20K.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support State Construction Managers and Supervisors with day‑to‑day coordination and administration.
  • Monitor job progress, lifecycle stages, KPIs, and proactively escalate delays or risks.
  • Assist with issuing purchase/work orders and trade procurement activities.
  • Coordinate and track building permits, approvals, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage end‑to‑end claims up to $20K, including scheduling, client communication, and progress tracking.
  • Maintain accurate job files, documentation, and system records.
  • Support contract administration, subcontractor onboarding, and compliance checks.
  • Prepare internal/external reports and assist with onboarding new team members.
  • Facilitate communication between trades, supervisors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Assist with urgent works and make‑safe coordination when required.

Skills & Experience

  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience in insurance building or construction coordination (major/complex loss experience ideal).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Proficient with MS Office and construction scheduling platforms.
  • Knowledge of construction OH&S requirements and regulatory processes.
  • High attention to detail, reliable, and committed to quality outcomes.
  • Flexible, team‑focused, and customer‑centric approach.
