Description

Ambrose Construct Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on the Sunshine Coast. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while providing exceptional support to employees and stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with end-to-end payroll processing across the organisation.
  • Process employee payroll data, including variations, terminations, adjustments, and redundancy payments.
  • Support month-end payroll activities including superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax, and reporting.
  • Maintain employee records, entitlements, and payroll system data.
  • Liaise with managers to ensure payroll approvals are received on time.
  • Respond to payroll enquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with relevant legislation, awards, and company policies.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to support payroll compliance and accuracy.
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Assist in maintaining efficient payroll systems, procedures, and data integrity.
  • Support projects relating to payroll system upgrades and business growth initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Payroll and/or payroll administration experience.
  • Hands-on end-to-end payroll processing experience.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, NES, and employment conditions.
  • Experience using payroll systems (Employment Hero experience highly regarded).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Building or construction industry experience is desirable.
