Position Summary:
Alzheimer’s WA is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join our leadership team. This pivotal role is responsible for building awareness of Alzheimer’s WA and positioning the organisation as the trusted authority supporting, educating, and advocating for people living with dementia, their carers, and families. The role also plays a key part in strengthening our reputation as an employer of choice and as a preferred charitable cause for donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Marketing Manager will lead the delivery of annual marketing, communications, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement strategies that drive profile, revenue, and community connection.
About You:
You will bring strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of driving marketing activities that deliver revenue growth. You will have demonstrated fundraising experience such as corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, major donors, bequest and high-net-worth giving programs, as well as demonstrated success in creating and developing new fundraising opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of and in collaboration with the CEO:
- Develop, manage and implement integrated strategies across fundraising, marketing, promotions, communications, events, membership, donors, media, and public relations, in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Develop and oversee business plans that support organisational growth in line with Alzheimer’s WA’s strategic plan
- Ensure departmental alignment with Alzheimer’s WA’s person-centred philosophy and best practice in dementia care
- Lead and manage media engagement, including the development and execution of effective media strategies
- Identify and develop opportunities to increase public awareness
- Grow and protect Alzheimer’s WA’s brand and positioning, ensuring consistency across all channels and touchpoints
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge of current marketing and fundraising practices
- Demonstrated experience in client acquisition campaigns
- Strong record of revenue growth and meeting or exceeding fundraising targets
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including experience writing media releases, speeches, articles, and marketing copy, alongside strong organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Membership of, or eligibility for membership with, the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) or the Fundraising Institute Australia (FIA) and a relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing or a related field
- Demonstrated understanding of, or ability to quickly develop expertise in, the health, aged care, or not-for-profit sectors, with sensitivity to the needs of people living with dementia and their carers
- Strong skills in values-based storytelling and community engagement that build emotional connection with donors, clients, and supporters
- Proven leadership capability, with experience building, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams
