About the role

We are seeking a mechanically minded individual to join our Production team and perform a variety of operational functions in the manufacture of Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF).

This full-time position operates under the site Enterprise Agreement on a 12-hour rotating 24/7 roster.

Roster

Day Shift: 7:00am – 7:00pm

Night Shift: 7:00pm – 7:00am

Key Responsibilities

  • Set controls to feed, transfer, and process materials while adjusting temperature, pressure, and timing settings as required
  • Monitor machine performance and identify, report, or resolve operational issues
  • Observe gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure equipment is operating efficiently
  • Read work orders and communicate with team members regarding machine settings, production requirements, and product specifications
  • Maintain accurate production records, including quantities, dimensions, and material specifications
  • Inspect and measure finished products using gauges, callipers, and other measuring equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Conduct test production runs and make adjustments to achieve required product specifications
  • Adjust machine components to meet product requirements, including dimensions and adhesive application rates
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment

About You

  • Have previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment
  • Possess sound computer skills and experience working with automated control systems, CNC, or PLC equipment
  • Be mechanically minded with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Be committed to maintaining a safe workplace and identifying hazards
  • Be reliable and able to work a rotating shift roster
  • Be willing to undergo an employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Experience within the wood panel industry will be highly regarded
