Position Overview
As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Quality Lead to join our
Project Management Office (PMO) and play a key role in supporting project delivery across multiple renewable energy and power infrastructure projects. Reporting to the PMO Project Director, the Quality Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems, governance frameworks, and assurance processes across a diverse portfolio of projects.
This role works closely with Project Managers, Construction teams, Commercial teams, and key stakeholders to ensure quality standards are consistently achieved, risks are identified and mitigated, and project delivery aligns with contractual, regulatory, and business requirements. The successful candidate will provide quality leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from tender and pre-construction through to commissioning and project handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and processes across
the project portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and company quality standards.
- Lead portfolio-wide quality assurance activities, including audits, inspections, governance reviews, and compliance assessments.
- Establish and monitor quality performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
- Support project teams in the development and implementation of project quality plans, ITPs, and quality documentation.
- Conduct internal audits and facilitate external audits, ensuring findings are effectively managed and closed out.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery, governance, and business systems.
- Support PMO governance frameworks through quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
- Review and analyse quality trends, non-conformances, corrective actions, and lessons learned across projects.
- Provide regular quality reporting and assurance updates to senior leadership and project stakeholders.
- Support commissioning, energisation, and handover quality requirements where applicable.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across
the organisation.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in quality management within infrastructure, utilities, construction, or renewable energy sectors.
- Experience across utility-scale renewable energy projects including solar, BESS, substations, and transmission infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of project governance and PMO environments.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 compliant quality management systems.
- Experience in portfolio assurance, audits, governance, compliance, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capability.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple concurrent projects and business functions.
- PMO or portfolio governance experience.
- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001).
- Experience implementing digital quality management systems.
- Knowledge of commissioning and energisation quality requirements.
- Experience within EPC delivery environments.
