Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to NDIS participants with challenging behaviours, helping them to develop coping strategies and improve their quality of life. The role requires a compassionate and patient individual who is able to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify the root cause of challenging behaviours
  • Develop and implement behaviour support plans tailored to individual needs
  • Provide training and support to clients, families, and caregivers on behaviour management techniques
  • Monitor progress and adjust support plans as necessary
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and interventions
  • Attend team meetings and participate in case conferences as required

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or a related field
  • Previous experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and evidence-based interventions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate and patient approach to working with clients
