Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Estimator to join our team. The Production Estimator will be responsible for analysing production costs and processes and creating accurate estimates for various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production and manufacturing, process review and project management as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

About The Role

The Production Estimator plays an important role beyond delivering cost effective supplier inputs, including review of process efficiencies and potential production improvements to maximise efficiency and propose potential cost savings to support the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse production costs and create accurate estimates for various projects
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and other team members to ensure accurate estimates
  • Review and analyse project specifications and requirements
  • Identify potential cost savings and efficiencies in production processes
  • Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as needed
  • Communicate with clients and vendors to gather necessary information for estimates
  • Maintain estimating databases, rates, historical costing information and project costs
  • Ensure all estimates align with project specifications and compliance requirements
  • Assist with project handovers to project delivery teams

This is a client-facing role where your ability to communicate clearly, manage enquiries, and convert work into practical and commercial quotes matters as much as your technical understanding.

This role suits someone with a practical manufacturing, internal sales, or estimating background who is comfortable working with both technical information and customers. You will see the work you quote being manufactured on the floor!

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field (highly regarded)
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing production estimating or related field
  • Experience with pricing or quoting for packaging, digital and 3PL services desirable

Skills & Characteristics:

  • Project Management skills highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear, confident spoken and written English, with the ability to handle client conversations, questions, and follow-ups independently
  • Organised, commercially aware and reliable
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to manage multiple jobs at once
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and production software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full work rights in Australia with no restriction on hours
